Ramadhan ,Syawal & Me (wani)

ME : NUR SYAFAWANI BT MUHAMAD FAZLY

Hai and Assalamualaikum W.B.T everyone! My full name is Nur Syafawani Bt Muhamad Fazly. Some people called me wani and sometimes syafa but my old schoolmates called me 'Kak Yong' because my character just like a sister. Hehehe. Actually this is my first blog since I was born. I never had a blog and Im not interested to be a blogger. For me this all just waste my time. But when I was in KPTM Kuantan i had to create a blog as my assignment for subject English Proficiency. Madam Atikah asked us to create a blog and write an essay about Ramadhan, Syawal and Me. So, I would like to share the definition of ramadhan and syawal.

Ramadhan is ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month during which muslims observe fasting from morning twilight (maghrib prayer). The term Ramadhan is literally driven from al-Ramd which means 'burning heat of the sun'. It is believed that this name is given to the fasting month due to the  thirst experienced during fasting.

Eid al-Fitr called as Feast of Breaking the Fast, the Sugar Feast, Bayram (Bajram), the Sunset Festival or Hari Raya Puasa and the Lesser Eid, is an worldwide that marks the end of Ramadhan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The religious Eid is a single day during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn to sunset fasting during the entire month of ramadhan.

That is little bit definition of ramadhan and syawal I can share with you alls. Here I want to share my story during ramadhan. Before ramadhan is coming I was very excited to celebrate it with my family. I still remember the day we had a breaking fast together at many places with many types of food. Every year in ramadhan my mother likes to cook macaroni cheese and it was my favourite food but 'tepung pelita' is my most favourite food along ramadhan. This is year I felt little bit upset because I can not celebrated ramadhan with my family. I can not eat my favourite food anymore, and anything that I did during ramadhan with my family. I had to move to Pahang  because I need to continue my future study at KPTM Kuantan. I was in Pahang on the third day of fasting. I breaking fast with my family only for two days. I know they were also upset for my leaving. This year was my first year I celebrated ramadhan with a new place and with a new friends.

When I was in KPTM Kuantan I had an orientation handle by facilitator which were senior in KPTM. During orientation they prepared us dish for breaking a fast. So, at first I did not feel difficult to find the food for breaking a fast. But after the orientation program I need to be independent. I need to find everything and know everything about KPTM by my own self. After one weeks I was there I felt enjoyed with everyone and their surrounding. I had a sporting and caring friends which were always asked me to join them where ever they go. I ate many types of food here such as 'ikan patin masak tempoyak' and 'bubur durian'. It was the superb food I had ever ate. I realised that even I lost my family for awhile but it replaced with something new which are new friends.

My story about ramadhan seems like little bit bored and not interested. But Im sure you all will like my story about syawal. Three days before holiday for Hari Raya I packed my things to back home. I was really excited to meet everyone. I miss them so much. I go back to home by bus and it took five hours to reach there. I am very thankful because I still can together with my family at the night before hari raya. I helped my mother put all the cookies in their tupperware and cooked 'rendang', 'kuah kacang' and 'nasi himpit' for our first day celebration. My brother helped my father lighted up 'pelita' (vessel containing oil with a wick burnt to provide light) around my house. Besides, my little sister was very happy to play firework while running and shouting everywhere. My aunty and all my cousins was busy with their clothes, scarf and all the things that they want to wear for hari raya. This year my family's theme is blue colour. This year is my turn to decide the theme so I choosed blue colour because it is my favourite colour.

After my family and I recite subuh prayer we were busy for preparing everything for the day. I helped my mother prepared all the dish for our breakfast before we go to the mosque for hari raya prayer. We were look so good and all of us were very beautiful, gorgeous and handsome. They look perfect with a new clothes, scarft and variety accessory. We ate first before we go to mosque. After we back from mosque we apologise each other by shake hands. This part I really hate because it's really make me touch untill my tears falling down. I visit all my cousin, aunty uncle and also my beloved grandmother. Normally, as a teenager will get less 'duit raya' than a kids. But this year I got more 'duit raya' than my little sister. I really happy for it. For sure the best part in syawal is we can eat anything and many type of food anytime. I will miss all of this when I back to KPTM. I still can not move on. Thats all for today. Thanks for lending your eyes to read my story and I hope you also will having the best experience more than me for the next syawal.
